Electronics & semiconductors

Electronics is one of India's fastest-growing manufacturing sectors, and the Noida–Greater Noida belt in Uttar Pradesh is a major mobile phone and component cluster. This page covers national production data and the state's electronics and semiconductor incentives.

Importance to the Indian economy

Domestic production of electronic goods rose from ₹9.52 lakh crore in 2023-24 to ₹11.32 lakh crore in 2024-25 and ₹13.11 lakh crore in 2025-26 (MeitY, via PIB). Exports of electronic goods rose from ₹2.41 lakh crore in 2023-24 to ₹3.27 lakh crore in 2024-25.

Growth so far has been led by assembly, especially of mobile phones. The next phase is components and semiconductors, where central schemes (ECMS, Semicon India) and state top-ups together decide project viability.
