Importance to the Indian economy

Exports of telecommunication, computer and information services were US$ 206.6 billion in 2025-26, up from US$ 183.3 billion in 2024-25 and US$ 163.6 billion in 2023-24 (RBI data, via PIB). This is the single largest component of India's services exports.

Global capability centres, where multinationals run technology, finance and R&D functions in-house, are a growing part of this. Uttar Pradesh's GCC policy targets these centres with land, capital, opex and payroll support.
