Rules of thumb for UP incentives
- Region matters: rates are generally highest in Bundelkhand and Purvanchal, followed by Madhyanchal and Paschimanchal, and lowest in Gautam Buddh Nagar and Ghaziabad.
- One policy per investment: for most policies a unit can claim under only one state policy for the same investment. The MSME Promotion Policy 2022 states this expressly.
- Apply online: incentive applications and approvals are filed through Nivesh Mitra's online incentive management system.
- Eligible cost heads differ: some policies count plant & machinery and building, others plant & machinery and technical civil works; land is usually excluded or capped.
