Subsidy Stacking & Eligibility Check

Most projects qualify for more than one incentive: a state capital subsidy, an interest subsidy, a central grant, a credit guarantee. Whether they can be combined, and in what order, is decided by the conditions of each scheme. Getting this right early protects both the claim and the bank's appraisal.

How stacking usually works

  • Different kinds of support stack more easily. A capital subsidy, an interest subvention and a credit guarantee address different costs and are often compatible, for example AIF interest subvention alongside a capital subsidy where both schemes allow it.
  • The same cost head is the usual limit. Many schemes bar or cap assistance where another government scheme has already funded the same item of cost.
  • One state policy per investment. In Uttar Pradesh, a unit can generally claim under only one state policy for the same investment, so the MSME policy and a sector policy have to be compared, not combined.
  • Some schemes exclude all others. CM-YUVA, for instance, is not available to applicants availing another state or central interest or capital subsidy (PM SVANidhi excepted).
  • Timing and sequence matter. Some incentives require registration or approval before investment starts; claiming one first can affect the eligible amount under another.
