Export-oriented enterprises

Exporters earn foreign exchange, face global competition and usually run longer working-capital cycles than domestic suppliers. This page sets out India's export trend from official data and the support Uttar Pradesh offers exporters under its 2025-30 policy.

Importance to the Indian economy

India's total exports of goods and services reached US$ 863.1 billion in 2025-26, up from US$ 825.26 billion in 2024-25 and US$ 778.21 billion in 2023-24 (Ministry of Commerce, via PIB). Services have driven much of the growth, while merchandise exports have been broadly flat at about US$ 437–442 billion.

Uttar Pradesh is a landlocked state, so exporters pay more to reach gateway ports. The state's export policy is built around offsetting that cost (freight support) and helping MSMEs find buyers (marketing assistance).
