MIS & Management Reporting

Good MIS answers three questions every month: did we make money, where did the cash go, and what needs attention now. We design reporting around those questions and keep it short enough to be read.

A typical monthly MIS pack

  • Profit and loss for the month and year to date, against budget and last year, with gross margin by product, plant or channel.
  • Cash flow and bank position: utilisation of limits, drawing power and the next weeks' commitments.
  • Working capital: debtor ageing, inventory days and creditor days, with overdue MSME payables flagged for Section 43B(h).
  • Operating KPIs chosen for your business, for example capacity utilisation, yield, cost per unit or order book.
  • A one-page commentary: what changed, why, and the decisions needed.

How we set it up

  1. 1

Chart of accounts and cost centres

Accounts structured so the MIS can be produced from your accounting system without manual reclassification.

  2. 2

    KPI selection

A short list of indicators that drive your results, agreed with the promoters.

  3. 3

    Monthly routine

Closing checklist, cut-off dates and a review meeting each month.
